The Indonesian Breast Cancer Foundation (YKPI) was officially established in 2015, after previously being named the Jakarta Breast Health Foundation (YKPJ) which had been earlier founded on August 19, 2003 by Linda Agum Gumelar, Tati A.M. Hendropriyono, Rima Melati Tumbuan, Andy Endriartono Sutarto and (late) Dr. Sutjipto, Sp.B (K) Onk. As a non-profit organization, YKPI is a partner for government in promoting breast cancer counseling and prevention activities in Indonesia. In 2020, YKPI was awarded by the Indonesian Ministry of Health as an Agency/Institution that has successfully realized GERMAS, for the category of Prevention & Control of Non-Communicable Diseases in Indonesia. The award was given in the highlight ceremony of the National Health Day 2020.
